Paying for the Venezuela e-visa

Updated

The Venezuela e-visa fee, reported at about $60 per solicitud plus a processing fee of about $3, is paid by card in the Cancillería portal as the last step. "Pago rechazado" can appear even when your card was charged: screenshot the error, keep your bank record and dispute the first charge. A retry is a new solicitud, charged again.

The payment is the last step in the Cancillería portal and a common place for things to go wrong: cards declined, "Pago rechazado", or a charge with no confirmation. Here is what to expect and what to do, from the official manuals and dated applicant reports.

What to expect at the payment step

Emit the request, then pay the government fee in the portal. Nobody else collects it.

Common mistakes at this step:

  • Looking for the payment before emitting the request.
  • Paying anyone outside the portal for the fee.

The fee

The government fee is separate from any expert fee: about $60 per solicitud plus a processing fee of about $3, confirmed only in the Cancillería portal and paid only there. Pay the amount the portal shows.

Cards

Cards: Visa cards from large US and Canadian banks are reported working. Wise and Revolut cards are often declined, and your bank's fraud filter seems to decide more than the card network. Call your bank's fraud line before paying and keep a second card ready.

"Pago rechazado"

"Pago rechazado" means the portal did not record the payment. It can appear even when your card was charged. If you were charged anyway: screenshot the error, keep the bank record of both charges, and dispute the duplicate with your card issuer.

A denial with only 3 of 5 steps complete almost always means the payment failed, not that the application was reviewed.

If your card was charged anyway

  1. Keep both statements (or the bank record of both charges) and a screenshot of the error.
  2. Dispute the duplicate charge with your card issuer.
  3. Start a new solicitud for the application.

Retrying

A retry is a new solicitud with a new fee. There is no refund of the earlier fee, so fix everything before you pay again.

How this works

  • Every tip on this page rests on a rule in our rules base, shown below it with its source (official manual or applicant reports) and the date it was last verified. A tip whose rule is withdrawn disappears from the page.
  • The fee amount comes from one configuration with its own verification date. The portal is the only place the real amount is confirmed and paid.
  • Nobody but the portal collects the government fee. If you were denied after paying, the rejection decoder tells you what it most likely means.
