How do I fill Primer Nombre, Segundo Nombre and the Apellido fields on the Venezuela e-visa?

Copy your name exactly as the passport prints it. Your first given name goes in Primer Nombre, any other given names in Segundo Nombre, your first surname in Primer Apellido, and a second surname, only if the passport shows one, in Segundo Apellido. The passport number goes in both ID fields, and the passport needs 6 months of validity left.

The portal splits your name into four boxes, and a name that does not match the passport letter for letter is a common reason to be turned down. Type the two lines of letters and < at the bottom of your passport's photo page and see exactly what goes in each box.

Privacy: The two lines are read in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us, stored or logged; we only count that the check was used and whether it passed.

How this works

The two bottom lines (the machine-readable zone) hold your names, passport number, nationality and dates, each protected by a check digit. If one character is typed wrong, the check digit fails and we tell you which part to compare again.
Your first given name goes in Primer Nombre and any others in Segundo Nombre; your first surname (with particles such as DE or DEL) goes in Primer Apellido and any second surname in Segundo Apellido. This is the same mapping your case fill sheet uses.
The bottom lines cannot show hyphens or accents. If your photo page prints a hyphenated or accented name, type it in the optional boxes and we keep that spelling when the letters match.
Passports need at least 6 months of validity to register. Add your arrival date to check the passport against the trip as well.
