The six stages, in portal order
- 1
Register on Cancillería Digital
On "Regístrate" choose EXTRANJERO, then Tipo de persona "Natural". Give your country of birth as printed in the passport, your identity document and your names exactly as in the passport. Add one contact who is not a relative and lives in your country, and add any children you will apply for in the optional Grupo Familiar.

Confirm your email and wait for "Aprobado"
The portal emails a "Confirmar correo electrónico" button to click within 72 hours (check spam). After you finish the registration with "Finalizar", wait until Registro Consular shows "Aprobado" before you start any trámite.
- 3
Open a Nueva solicitud
In Mis solicitudes, press "+ Crear solicitud", choose the Oficina de Relaciones Consulares and Aceptar, then "Agregar trámite" and pick the tourist visa. Keep only one request open at a time.

Fill the trámite
The form shows your registration data and asks for the travel data: transport type, ticket number, travel date and time. Estimated dates are accepted. With no national ID card, the passport number also goes in "Número de tarjeta de identidad", and "Exp." means the issue date.

Upload the documents
Attach each recaudo on the official list: PDFs up to 5 MB, images of at least 1920x1080 pixels and up to 3 MB. A translated document goes in one file, in order. Check everything before "Terminar trámite", which locks the application.

Good to know
- The tourist visa covers leisure, health and activities with no pay or profit, which includes visiting family. Paid work or your own business calls for another visa (see below).

Common mistakes
- Names that do not match the passport letter for letter, or that differ between the registration, the trámite and the documents.
- Choosing VENEZOLANO or Jurídica at registration. A foreign traveller is EXTRANJERO, then Natural.
- Starting the trámite while the registration still shows "Enviado".

Frequently asked questions
Where do I apply for the Venezuela e-visa?
Only online, on the Cancillería Digital portal (cancilleriadigital.mppre.gob.ve), reached from mppre.gob.ve. Consulates issue a separate sticker visa through their own process and do not handle e-visa applications.
How much does the Venezuela e-visa cost?
Applicants report about $60 per solicitud plus a processing fee of about $3. No official source publishes the amount: pay what the portal shows, and only there. Every new solicitud is charged again.

How long does the Venezuela e-visa take?
The June 2026 manuals say about 72 hours, but in first-hand reports approval has taken days to weeks. Apply at least 3 to 4 weeks before you fly; the current range is on our wait-time tracker.

I am travelling for work. Is the tourist visa right?
Not for paid activity. The transient business visa is for commercial activity for your own business. A foreign professional on a temporary assignment for a Venezuelan client applies for the PRO-V-90 visa, which has its own guide.
How long is the tourist e-visa valid?
It is reported as one year from approval with multiple entries, possibly with at most 90 days' stay in that year. No official source has confirmed it.

How this works
- Every step, mistake and answer rests on a rule in our rules base, with its source (official manual, reviewer, or applicant reports) and the date it was last verified. If a rule is withdrawn, that point disappears from the page.
- Amounts, durations and limits come from one configuration with its own verification date; "Last updated" is the newest date of everything the page shows.
- Written by us from the MPPRE manuals and dated applicant reports. We never quote or name members of community groups.
