The Venezuela business visa for property buyers
I am flying in to view or buy property. Tourist visa or transient business visa?
Both definitions come from the ministry; the buyer case sits between them. The rules below say what each visa is for and what the business form demands.
Facts on this page verified through Sep 25, 2026.
Who the tourist visa is for
The MPPRE description of the Visa de Turista (T): granted to foreigners entering the country for recreation or leisure, health, or activities that do not involve remuneration or profit. The consular fee is to be consulted with the diplomatic or consular representation.
What to do: Choose the tourist visa for holidays, visiting family or friends, and looking at property without doing business.
Common mistake: Applying for a tourist visa for a paid activity.

Who the transient business visa (TR-N) is for
The MPPRE description: the Visa de Transeúnte Negocios is granted to merchants, executives, representatives of companies or industries and micro-entrepreneurs, non-migrants, who wish to enter the country to carry out commercial, mercantile or financial activities and transactions or another lawful lucrative activity related to their businesses. The same page states a validity of one year, multiple entries, and stays of up to ninety days.
What to do: Choose it when the trip is business related to your own company or employer and a Venezuelan company invites you.
Common mistake: Applying for it for a holiday.

Which visa for a property-buying trip
From the official descriptions: the tourist visa covers activities that involve no remuneration or profit; the transient business visa is for commercial, mercantile or financial activity related to the applicant's own business, and its form requires an inviting company (Razón social, Actividad económica) and a contact. Buyers who only view property and sign nothing have used the tourist visa; there is no verified report yet of which type a mission accepted for a purchase trip.
What to do: Ask a reviewer before choosing. Bring the agency's invitation letter if you go the business route; keep the trip within the tourist definition otherwise.
Common mistake: Assuming a business visa is required to buy property.
