Children and minors, including a child with a Venezuelan parent

Updated

A child has no portal account of their own: the parent registers, adds the child to the family group and picks the child in "Seleccione el hijo". Minors need an apostilled or legalized birth certificate (translated if not in Spanish) and proof of filiation. A child with a Venezuelan parent can enter on a tourist visa with a foreign passport.

The children’s manual shows no payment step, so whether a fee is charged for a child is not stated. Pay only what the portal itself asks for.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need their own portal account?

No. The child applies through a parent’s account and is picked in "Seleccione el hijo" on the trámite.

My child has a US passport and one Venezuelan parent. Tourist visa or Venezuelan passport?

Either can work, but decide before the trip. On the foreign passport the child applies for a tourist visa like any applicant; registered as Venezuelan, the child must leave Venezuela on a Venezuelan passport. Reports conflict on what to upload under "Datos filiatorios", so have an expert check that part.

How this works

  • Every step, mistake and answer rests on a rule in our rules base, with its source (official manual, reviewer, or applicant reports) and the date it was last verified. If a rule is withdrawn, that point disappears from the page.
  • Amounts, durations and limits come from one configuration with its own verification date; "Last updated" is the newest date of everything the page shows.
  • Written by us from the MPPRE manuals and dated applicant reports. We never quote or name members of community groups.
