What goes in "Tarjeta de identidad" and "Nro. de Pasaporte"
Updated
If you have no national identity card, as US and Canadian applicants do not, the passport number goes in "Número de tarjeta de identidad" and again in "Nro. de Pasaporte", exactly as printed. At registration, choose the passport as the identity document. "Exp." next to the passport number means expedición, the issue date, not the expiry date.
Step by step
- 1
Registration: Tipo de Identificación and Documento de Identidad
Pick the document type you use and type its number. Applicants without a national ID card use the passport. "Registrarse" stays disabled until it is filled.

How this works
- Every step, mistake and answer rests on a rule in our rules base, with its source (official manual, reviewer, or applicant reports) and the date it was last verified. If a rule is withdrawn, that point disappears from the page.
- Amounts, durations and limits come from one configuration with its own verification date; "Last updated" is the newest date of everything the page shows.
- Written by us from the MPPRE manuals and dated applicant reports. We never quote or name members of community groups.
