Uploads

Documentos · Attach each document the form asks for.

Recaudos · Visa de turista para hijosDocuments for a child: what is and is not verified
What it means
The June 2026 children's manual does not itemise the recaudos: it only says the required ones must be attached before Terminar trámite. Applicants report the child's birth certificate and an authorization from the parent who does not travel being requested; whether either needs an apostille or a translation is unverified.
What to enter
Gather the child's passport and photo, the birth certificate and, if only one parent travels, a signed authorization from the other. Ask a reviewer before paying for an apostille or translation; the portal's own recaudos list (Ver recaudos) is the authority.
Common mistake
Paying for apostilles and translations that may not be required.

Common mistake: Uploading a PDF scan or a cropped image of the passport.

Bank statement or bank screenshot

A bank statement or bank screenshot is expected. Reported approvals have come with small balances, so the balance itself does not appear to decide the outcome.

What to do: Upload a real, recent statement or screenshot in your name. Do not edit it.

Common mistake: Skipping it because the balance seems low, or altering the figures.

Reported by applicantsLast verified Sep 25, 2026

Background check

A background check is not consistently required. Some applicants were approved without one and some were rejected without one. The Visa Group's pinned message treats it as required.

What to do: Include one if you already have it. Do not delay the application only to obtain one.

Common mistake: Assuming a rejection was caused by the missing background check.

Order of a translation packet

A translation packet goes in the order: translation, translator's declaration, original English document.

What to do: Combine the three parts in that order into one file before uploading.

Payment

Pago · Pay the government fee in the portal with your own card.

Emitir solicitud · PagarEmitir solicitud, then pay
What it means
After Terminar trámite: Regresar (top right) → Mis solicitudes → "Emitir solicitud" → confirm "Si". The portal emails a summary (user name, request number, trámites requested, amount to pay). Then Pagar → choose the payment method → "Generar orden de pago" → Pagar → the card form (Nombre del tarjetahabiente, Número de tarjeta, Código CVC, Mes and Año de expiración, País del tarjetahabiente, Provincia/Estado, Correo electrónico, Teléfono móvil) → "Enviar Pago" → Continuar shows the payment detail.
What to enter
Emit the request first; the amount arrives by email; then pay in the portal with your own card.
Common mistake
Looking for a pay button before the request has been emitted.

Official sourceLast verified Sep 25, 2026Source

Emitir solicitud · No, emitir / Sí, agregarEmitting the child's request: what the manual shows
What it means
After Terminar trámite the portal asks whether to add another trámite ("Sí, agregar") or emit the request ("No, emitir"). The June 2026 children's manual lists the procedure as create, register, attach, finish, emit, receive the approval notification, and its emailed summary shows user name, request number and trámites requested. Unlike the adult manuals it shows no payment step and no "Cantidad a pagar" line. Whether a fee is charged for a child is not stated in the manual.
What to enter
Emit the request and read the portal's email: pay only what the portal itself asks for, in the portal.
Common mistake
Paying a third party "for the child's fee".

Planilla consular · Documento emitidoThe planilla consular and the issued visa
What it means
The planilla consular is downloaded from Mis solicitudes. Once the document is signed it is sent to your email and can be downloaded from Mis solicitudes → Ver detalles → PDF; the manual notes you can only see the document once it has been signed.
What to enter
Keep the planilla consular and the signed PDF with your passport for the trip.
Common mistake
Waiting for a PDF in the portal before it has been signed.

Which cards work for the portal payment

Visa cards succeed more often than Mastercard for the portal payment. Wise and Revolut cards were reported declined; big-bank Visa debit or credit cards (Chase, Bank of America, TD) were reported working.

What to do: Pay with a Visa card from a large bank if you have one. Keep a second card ready.

Common mistake: Trying a Wise or Revolut card first, then assuming the portal is broken when it declines.

Reported by applicantsLast verified Sep 25, 2026

Denied with only 3 of 5 steps complete

A denial that shows only 3 of 5 steps complete usually means the payment failed, not that the application was reviewed and refused.

What to do: Check your card statement. If there is no charge, start a new solicitud with another card. Earlier uploads are usually still there.

Common mistake: Re-uploading every document and paying again before checking whether the first payment went through.

Reported by applicantsLast verified Sep 25, 2026

Every new application is charged again

Each new application after a rejection is charged again. There is no refund of the earlier fee.

What to do: Fix everything that could be wrong before submitting a new solicitud, so you pay once more, not several times.

Common mistake: Resubmitting the same application unchanged.

Reported by applicantsLast verified Sep 25, 2026

How much the government fee is

Published figures conflict: no fee in April 2026 guides, USD 180 in a September 25, 2026 guide, and applicants reported USD 60 on September 24. Until a reviewer confirms the figure, rely on the fee the portal displays at the payment step.

What to do: Pay the amount the portal shows. Pay it in the portal only; nobody else collects it for you.

Common mistake: Budgeting from an out-of-date guide, or paying anyone outside the portal.

Official sourceLast verified Sep 25, 2026
